Whale in the Desert

But they do have lemonade and are always smiling. I have found it is very difficult for me to illustrate things and not put a smile on their face. This is one example, he should be miserable, but he's still smiling. Maybe it's the lemonade. This is something I worked on for a challenge at SketchClub. I found this quote in a fortune cookie, but never thought I would be illustrating it. Thanks for stopping by!!

    I love your whale in the desert! My sister and I have been wanting to make a children's book from a song she and my Dad made when she was little, from their many road trips. It has become a beloved song/story of all his grandkids. I am interested in talking to you about what it would take to have it illustrated. I really like your style. It is about a hoppy toad : ) Gina H.
