Smilin' Yeti

Worked on this for fun. This was done in Sketchclub on the iPad. I created a new brush and I was trying it out and this is what came out. I guess I created a super soft fur brush! Just ready for some cooler temperatures too! Thanks for taking a look.

Illustration Friday- -Tall

The little giraffe is tall, but he always like to go to the tallest hill so he can see further. I have been drawing a lot of giraffes lately for some activity pages I have been commissioned to do. This is something I worked on just for some practice and fun, but it really seemed to fit the subject for Illustration Friday! Thanks for taking a look.

Desert Monsoon

I did this little vector art for a daily challenge entitled "clouds" for SketchClub. I haven't been able to do much lately but I wanted to do something and clouds are just simply amazing. Tucson is having monsoon weather now with afternoon showers almost daily, so this is what I thought of almost immediately for this subject. I hope you like it!!

Hey, I got it done before Thursday night!! This one took so many turns, and I thought of quite a few things I could draw for this one actually. Eventually the cows taking over a rocket to jump over the moon came to the surface. Thanks for taking a look!!

IllustrationFriday- -Secret

Little bear has a secret how he always gets more honey than the other bears.

I wanted to try something new, so I went with watercolors. Digital watercolors in Artrage. I love the look of watercolors. Here is something that is not a secret. Watercolors are difficult, and I am not very good with them. :) Digital watercolors either. Guess that just means I will need to practice more.

But they do have lemonade and are always smiling. I have found it is very difficult for me to illustrate things and not put a smile on their face. This is one example, he should be miserable, but he's still smiling. Maybe it's the lemonade. This is something I worked on for a challenge at SketchClub. Turtle With Friends

Seemed to fit the subject of water for October 4th Illustration Friday. Here is something I drew up for a challenge for SketchClub entitled "Underwater". Club Safari Comic

I haven't drawn or posted anything in a while, so here is something new. This is something I have wanted to try with the Sketchclub app on the iPad. I wanted to see if I could draw a comic strip on the iPad to see how difficult it would be, so I took one of my older comics and translated it over. It was a little more difficult than I had anticipated, but I think with a little practice, it could be okay. Thanks for stopping to take a look!!

Dinosaurs Like Lollipops Too!!

Here is one for fun! It is a little known fact, but dinosaurs liked lollipops too! There were huge battles just trying to steal another dinosaur’s lollipop! They had their favorite flavors, and were often terrified of losing their lollipops! A new theory has developed that stress over losing their lollipops is what killed the dinosaurs! Giant meteors?! I don't think so. 

I had a lot of fun with this one, and wonder if this might develop further. :)

Daily Sketch: Happy Bee and Flower

The challenge yesterday on the Sketchclub app was insects. I decided on a bee with a flower and this is what came out. I love drawing happy things and cartoons, so this is a good combo I feel. I hope they both brighten your day. This was done using Sketchclub on an iPad.  :)

Golf Terminology: Worm Burner

Okay all you golf fans here is one for you! Spring is in the air and its time to hit the links! I played golf a lot in the Air Force where I could afford it, and one of the shots I always seemed to excel in was the worm-burner! So, here is my rendition of the worm-burner. Hang on buddy!

I immediately thought of my family and how good they are at math and wanted to do something for them. I do not enjoy math, and really do not consider myself a mathematician at all. Here is another digital painting I did with Artrage. I used a photograph as a reference. Once again, difficult to get watercolor effects out of a digital program, but Artrage works pretty well if your looking for a fun program to work with. I liked how this one turned out, I hope you do too.

Here is another older drawing I did of an eagle. I have always loved the majesty of an eagle. I created a second drawing similar to this one while I was in the Air Force. That one is hanging in the Airman Leadership School on Davis Monthan AFB. Pencil and ink.
