Dinosaurs Like Lollipops Too!!

Here is one for fun! It is a little known fact, but dinosaurs liked lollipops too! There were huge battles just trying to steal another dinosaur’s lollipop! They had their favorite flavors, and were often terrified of losing their lollipops! A new theory has developed that stress over losing their lollipops is what killed the dinosaurs! Giant meteors?! I don't think so.
I had a lot of fun with this one, and wonder if this might develop further. :)

Daily Sketch: Happy Bee and Flower

The challenge yesterday on the Sketchclub app was insects. I decided on a bee with a flower and this is what came out. I love drawing happy things and cartoons, so this is a good combo I feel. I hope they both brighten your day. This was done using Sketchclub on an iPad.  :)

Golf Terminology: Worm Burner

Okay all you golf fans here is one for you! Spring is in the air and its time to hit the links! I played golf a lot in the Air Force where I could afford it, and one of the shots I always seemed to excel in was the worm-burner! So, here is my rendition of the worm-burner. Hang on buddy!

Illustration Friday: Greener Grass

Here is something that just came to me, and I thought it would be fun to draw. I believe most everyone has this same view whether it is actually grass, new technology, new cell phone, etc. Something always a shade greener on the other side! Thanks for stopping to take a look!

Happy pi-Day Part 2: "Cow-pi"

This is a second drawing I did in SketchClub for the pi Day contest within SketchClub.  Growing up in Texas, you tend to think of these things.  Yes, for those of you wondering, I have been in a cow-pie throwing contest. It's just what you do growing up in Texas.  Thanks again for stopping and checking out my artwork!

Happy pi-Day: Want Some pi?

Here is an image I did with the SketchClub app. They are having a contest within SketchClub and I wanted to be able to join in. I immediately thought of my family and how good they are at math and wanted to do something for them. I do not enjoy math, and really do not consider myself a mathematician at all. Our kids get those skills from my wife. I am the one in the bottom right corner enjoying "pie".  Thanks for stopping by and glancing at my artwork.

Illustration Friday: The Un-Yielding Tortoise

Illustration Friday Topic: Yield.

Here is an older illustration I worked on. It is the classical race between the Tortoise and the Hare. We can see the determined Tortoise was unyielding to the confident Hare and his boasting, and crosses the finish line well ahead of the Hare.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Artrage Watercolor: Rabbit in Snow

Here is another digital painting I did with Artrage. I used a photograph as a reference. Once again, difficult to get watercolor effects out of a digital program, but Artrage works pretty well if your looking for a fun program to work with. I liked how this one turned out, I hope you do too.

Snowy Image in Artrage

Here is an image I painted in Artrage.  Trying to get a watercolor feeling out of a digital program can be a challenging thing!  Thanks for taking a look!

Older Drawing of an Eagle

Here is another older drawing I did of an eagle. I have always loved the majesty of an eagle. I created a second drawing similar to this one while I was in the Air Force. That one is hanging in the Airman Leadership School on Davis Monthan AFB. Pencil and ink.

Older Drawing of a Tiger

Here is an older drawing I worked on using pencil and ink. Not my favorite piece I have worked on but I hope others enjoy viewing it.

New Image: Wet Leaves on Sidewalk

Here is a digital watercolor of a photograph I took outside of work one day after it rained. I thought the fall leaves on the concrete made a nice contrast. The image was painted in Artrage.

Dragon with a Friend

Finished this over the weekend using SketchClub on the iPad once again. Hope it brightens your day!!

Chasing Butterflies

Here is another sketch done on the ipad using the sketchclub app. This is Niki, and old comic strip character I worked with for a while. He is fun to draw and hopefully brings a smile to your face. Enjoy!!

Spring- -Trying to Impress the Ladies

New sketch done on an iPad with the SketchClub app. Thought about spring and for the boys it is time to try and impress the girls. Of course she already knows what his intention is, and is unimpressed. Enjoy!!
